Crash On I-95 North Temporarily Shuts Down All Lanes
ATTLEBORO (CBS) -- A crash temporarily shut down all lanes of I-95 Northbound around noon on Wednesday. A med-flight was called to I-95 "north of Exit 4," said MassDOT in a tweet.
A man in his mid-30s was taken away in the med-flight.
According to the Attleboro Fire Department, one pickup truck was involved in the crash. It crashed into the guardrail on the breakdown lane side of the highway and the rail went straight through the engine compartment and into the passenger side of the truck.
The driver was not impaled but his right lower leg was seriously injured and he was entrapped, the fire department said.
He was taken to Rhode Island Hospital's trauma center.
Once the med-flight helicopter cleared, the left lane was opened. The crash caused heavy traffic delays. Around 2 p.m., all travel lanes were reopened.
Crash shuts down 95NB near 295. Avoid area if you can.

That's Skyeye flying over me. I was on my daily drive to @wbz - been stuck in standstill traffic for an hour. pic.twitter.com/1nDv7QfITP
