Attleboro High School Apologizes For Football 'Hit List'

ATTLEBORO (CBS) -- A high school football rivalry took a scary turn Thanksgiving Day when a "hit list" was found.

The "2K14 Hit List" was found hanging in the locker room at Attleboro High School Thursday morning before their game against North Attleboro. It's a list of the opposing team's names.

The part that says "Red Is Dead" is because North Attleboro High School wears red uniforms.

The Attleboro High School principal said the cheerleaders made it, and the sign was taken down immediately by an assistant coach.

"It is poor judgment that detracts from an otherwise very healthy rivalry," principal Bill Runey said in a statement to WBZ. "We have apologized to North Attleboro High School."

There's no word yet on whether the cheerleaders will face any punishment.

North Attleboro won the game 29-27.
