Skimming Device Found On Cambridge Store ATM

CAMBRIDGE (CBS) – Police in Cambridge are telling ATM users to be on alert after a card skimmer was found on a machine at a local store.

The skimming device was noticed Friday by a customer using an ATM at a convenience store that was not named by police.

Authorities said the card reader was attached with double-sided tape, and a pinhole camera was placed in the money dispenser area to catch people entering their PIN.

"These devices are well built and appear to be part of the machine," police said.

Officers will be checking ATMS in other stores to make sure they don't also have skimming devices.
