Arrests Made In Burglary That Released Woman's 'Inner Lioness'

CONCORD, N.H. (CBS) – Police have arrested two men suspected of breaking into a Concord woman's home earlier this month and releasing her "inner lioness."

Sue Brewer told WBZ-TV's Michael Rosenfield that she was fast asleep when strangers came into her bedroom in the middle of the night.

"I wasn't afraid," 67-year-old Brewer said. "I got angry. And that anger welled up inside of me. And I started hollering at them, and telling them what to do and where to go, politely."

Sue chased the two men away.

"They ran," said Brewer. "They were afraid of me. It released the inner lioness in me, they were in my territory, they didn't belong here and I told them that."

Concord Police said arrested Abraham Sanborn, 33, on Tuesday.  He was set to be arraigned Wednesday on a burglary charge.

Ian Berry, 32, was arraigned on Monday and held on $100,000 cash bail on a burglary charge.

The two men entered Brewer's home by climbing through a first-floor window, police said. Pieces of physical evidence left at the scene linked the men to the crime, according to investigators.

Brewer said the men took an electronic device she uses to speak with her husband, who's in a group home.

"And that's the only way he knows how to communicate with me," said Brewer. "He has a harder time with phones, he doesn't own his own phone."

Brewer ended up with bruises on her hand.

She's not even sure how the injuries happened but she does know she's glad she stood up to the burglars in her bedroom.

An investigation is ongoing and anyone with information is asked to call Concord police.
