Elderly Woman Found Dead In Winchester Condo; Son Wanted
WINCHESTER (CBS) – An arrest warrant has been issued for a Winchester man after his mother was found dead on Tuesday.
Barbara McAveeney was found dead at the Parkview Condominium building on Swanton Street in Winchester. Police are looking for 46-year-old Matthew McAveeney, who is wanted for armed assault with intent to murder and other charges, including two counts of cruelty to animals.
A wellness check led police to make the discovery Tuesday morning. Residents who live near her first floor building said there was a foul smell.
Residents saw officers going through the building's trash and recycle bins looking for clues.
Residents said the woman lived in the building about 37 years, but she was usually only seen when riding her motorized scooter to get the mail.
