2 Arrested In Connection With Fatal Everett Shooting

WOBURN (CBS/AP) — Authorities say two men have been arrested in connection with a fatal shooting in Everett.

Middlesex County District Attorney Marian Ryan says that 17-year-old Jose Vasquez Ardon, of Everett, and 17-year-old Cristian Nunez-Flores, also of Everett, were arrested Saturday.

Both men are facing one count each of murder.

Malden and Revere police helped with the apprehension of the suspects, authorities said.

Prosecutors say police responded just after midnight Jan. 3 to a report of an injured man on the Northern Strand Community Trail beneath the Tileson Street overpass.

Police found 19-year-old Omar Wilfredo Reyes, of Everett, suffering from a single gunshot wound to the head shortly before 12:30 a.m. on Jan. 3.

Wilfredo Reyes was taken to the hospital where he died from his injuries Jan. 4.

Vasquez Ardon and Nunez-Flores are scheduled to be arraigned Monday in Malden District Court.

It's unclear whether they're represented by attorneys.
