Arlington Police Cruiser Involved In Crash With Stolen Truck

ARLINGTON (CBS) – A stolen truck crashed into a MBTA bus and a cruiser in Arlington Wednesday evening.

The crash happened before 6 p.m. in the area of Mass and Park Ave.

Arlington Police said 19-year-old Isiah Smith of Lawrence, and two 16-year-old boys were arrested.

At about 5:30 p.m., an officer spotted the vehicle that was reported stolen out of Lawrence. When the officer attempted to stop it, the juvenile driver allegedly fled. He struck a MBTA bus and the Arlington cruiser before stopping, police say.

The juvenile driver faces several charges including receiving a stolen motor vehicle, negligent operation, unlicensed operation and failure to stop for police.

Smith and the second juvenile were charged with receiving a stolen motor vehicle.

No injuries were reported.

The road reopened to traffic just before 7 p.m.
