Arlington Man Charged With OUI After Allegedly Crashing Car Into Busy Restaurant

ARLINGTON (CBS) --- An Arlington man was arrested after crashing his car into a busy restaurant, injuring a person who was dining inside.

It happened around 6 p.m. Saturday, at Scutra Restaurant on Summer Street.

A 70-year-old woman was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Following an investigation, the driver, Nick Martirosyan, 57, of Arlington, was placed under arrest and charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol (second offense) and negligent driving.

According to witnesses, Martirosyan struck several parked cars before crashing into the restaurant.

"We are fortunate that injuries were not more serious, and we hope for a speedy recovery for the woman who was injured," said Police Chief Frederick Ryan.

Martirosyan was booked at the Arlington Police Headquarters and later released on $200 cash bail. He will be arraigned in Cambridge District Court on Monday.
