Several animals were trapped after a barn collapsed in Framingham (WBZ)

Emergency workers freed four dairy cows using farm equipment. Four cows were able to walk from the collapsed barn on their own. Two other cows died.

"There was a lot of stress, there was impact injuries. Sometimes with these animals it's the emotional stress more than anything," Framingham Fire Chief Gary Daugherty said.

Crews used shovels to remove enough snow to extricate some of the cows.

Authorities say heavy snow and ice caused the barn to collapse.
