Animal Control Officer Frees Porcupine From Soccer Net In Princeton

PRINCETON (CBS) – First it was an owl, now a porcupine. Massachusetts animals appear to have an interest in soccer.

The Rutland Regional Animal Control officer posted on Friday that she freed a young porcupine that had become entangled on Thompson Road in Princeton.

According to the animal control officer, the soccer net was destroyed by the porcupine.

The animal was placed into a carrier until a member of the Princeton Police Department could cut the netting loose.

Rutland's animal control officer brought the porcupine to Tufts Wildlife Clinic where vets were expected to be able to cut the net off.

On Tuesday, police freed an owl that had become stuck in a soccer net in Weston.
