Amazon Delivers On Promise For Same-Day Service In Roxbury

BOSTON (CBS) – It appears the hole in Amazon's Boston same-day delivery map has been fixed.

Last month, Amazon came under fire for featuring same-day delivery to nearly every Boston neighborhood except Roxbury.

Following backlash and pressure from Boston Mayor Marty Walsh, the company said it would extend delivery service to Roxbury.

On Tuesday, WBZ NewsRadio 1030's Carl Stevens decided to put Amazon to the test.

With the assistance of Stevens, a Roxbury resident named Aaron placed an order for "Crazy Aaron's Thinking Putty" on Tuesday morning around 8:30 a.m.

As promised, Amazon delivered the product to Aaron's Roxbury home by Tuesday night.

"For Roxbury to be the only area that was excluded was pretty upsetting," Aaron told Stevens about Amazon's initial delivery map.

"I'm glad that they followed through on that and are making sure things arrive when they're supposed to."
