New Massachusetts License Plate To Raise Money For ALS Research

BOSTON (CBS) – There's a new way to support ALS research in Massachusetts.

A new special license plate to benefit ALS ONE was unveiled Monday in an event at the State House.

ALS ONE is a partnership of researchers, doctors and caretakers in Massachusetts who are working to identify a treatment for ALS, or amyotrophic lateral sclerosis.

To sign up for a license plate, visit the ALS One Facebook page.

The plates cost $40 each. Twenty-eight dollars goes directly to ALS ONE, while the other $12 covers the cost of the production of the plate.

Once the Registry of Motor Vehicles gets 750 applications, production will begin.
