Alleged Repeat Offender Charged With Hingham Upskirting

HINGHAM (CBS) – Police arrested a man accused of taking upskirt photographs last month inside a Hingham Barnes & Noble.

Hingham Police said Andrew Galvin, accused in the August 15 incident at the Derby Street Shoppes, is a repeat offender who is also charged with a similar upskirting incident in Walpole.

Surveillance pictures and images from a Barnes & Noble customer's cell phone allegedly show Galvin taking photos up a woman's skirt in Hingham.

After Hingham Police released the images, they received tips that Galvin had been arrested in June for similar Walpole incidents.

Police went to Galvin's last known address in Canton, but found that he was likely now living in Randolph.

Officers made several unsuccessful attempts to speak with Galvin over the phone and in person.

On September 12, UMass Amherst Police arrested Galvin on a warrant for the Hingham incidents.

Galvin was arraigned Monday in Hingham District Court on charges of photographing sexual or intimate parts without consent and accosting or annoying a person of the opposite sex.

A judge revoked Galvin's bail out of Wrentham District Court and Dedham District Court for the same charges.

He is next scheduled to appear in court on October 9.
