Study Ranks Airlines Based On Beer Offerings

BOSTON (CBS) -- Craft beer is a big business, and it's everywhere--even in the air.

As more airlines start to tap in to the craft beer craze, a recent TravelPulse.com study ranked a number of airlines based on the quality of the beer they serve.

The study looked at the beers offered by US domestic airlines, and averaged those beers' scores on the popular beer rating site BeerAdvocate.com.

Delta Airlines--which serves Blue Moon Belgian White, Heineken, Miller Lite, Samuel Adams, and Sweetwater 420 Extra Pale Ale--came in first place. Those beers had an averaged rating of 73.6.

Alaska Airlines, with a rating of 71.8, came in second; Spirit Airlines, with a rating of 56.25, came in last.
