'A Lot Of Lives Ruined': 2 Teenagers Charged With Murder In Lowell Shooting Of Adrian Kimborowicz

DRACUT (CBS) -- A Dracut mother says she is relieved that there is accountability in the murder of her son, 20 year old Adrian Kimborowicz.

He was shot on a Lowell Street last September and died a month later.

"I just want justice for Adrian. Nobody is winning here. There's a lot of lives ruined," said Heidi Kimborowicz outside Lowell District Court.

Charges have now been upgraded to murder against 19-year-old Christian Lemay and 16 year old Braedyn Baraby. Prosecutors say surveillance video puts the guns in their hands, after the group agreed to a fight on Sutherland Street in the early morning of September 26.

The nature of the fight is unclear, but prosecutors say the charge was upgraded to assault with intent to murder due to a key witness in a car with Lemay and Baraby and saw the shots fired.

"The driver of the vehicle stepped out of the car without saying anything, opened fire, he heard multiple shots," said prosecutor Clarence Brown.

It was just last week Adrian's mother Heidi Kimborowicz was asking the Dracut School system to reprint the high school yearbook after a message "Free Mello" was printed in support of Lemay, his nickname. She says students don't understand the seriousness of the case.

"It's hurtful, childish, it's something kids have to live with forever."

A neighbor on Sutherland Street, who doesn't want to be identified, heard the shots and the yelling.

"He says 'I told you to back off, quit bothering me, I said, I kept telling you to get out of my face'."

But the defense claims even a police report doesn't say Lemay had a gun.

Lemay and Baraby are being held without bail, while Heidi Kimborowicz still wants action and an apology from the Dracut Superintendent.

"He just sent an email saying he would send out stickers to cover the comments."

They are comments, she says, that still add to her family's pain.
