88-Year-Old Man Dies After Crashing Into Hampton Toll Booth

HAMPTON, N.H. (AP) — An 88-year-old Massachusetts man has died from injuries sustained after crashing his vehicle into a concrete barrier at a toll booth on Interstate 95 in Hampton.

State police say the vehicle was operated by Forrest Bishop of Merrimack, Massachusetts.

Police say Bishop was driving erratically northbound on I-95, failed to stop when signaled to do so by an officer and entered a section of the Hampton Toll Plaza closed for maintenance.

Police say once Bishop entered the closed toll plaza, his vehicle struck a concrete barrier. The vehicle came to rest on top of the barrier.

Bishop was transported to the Plymouth Hospital emergency room where he succumbed to injuries sustained in the crash.
