7-Year-Old Charged For Allegedly Stabbing Student With Pencil

SPENCER (CBS) – A criminal complaint has been filed against a 7-year-old boy accused of stabbing a classmate with pencil.

The alleged incident happened on October 4, 2013 at the Wire Village School in Spencer.

The criminal complaint says the boy, who is not being identified because he being charged as a juvenile, stabbed another 7-year-old boy during recess while the children were outside on the playground.

He faces a charge of Assault & Battery with a dangerous weapon to wit a Sharp Object. His arraignment in juvenile court is scheduled for January 21.

The victim suffered serious injuries and spent several days in the hospital.
