7 Cannons To Participate In MLL All Star Game

BOSTON (CBS) - The best in the world in the sport of lacrosse will descend on Boston this Thursday at Harvard Stadium for the 2014 Major League Lacrosse All Star Game.

The game will feature representatives from all of the league's eight teams: the Chesapeake Bayhawks, Rochester Rattlers, Denver Outlaws, Charlotte Hounds, New York Lizards, Ohio Machine, Florida Launch and Boston's own Cannons franchise.

The Cannons are sending seven players to participate, a list that includes Paul Rabil, Jordan Burke, Brodie Merrill, Kyle Sweeney, Mitch Beslisle, Chris Eck and Kevin Buchanan.

However, that doesn't mean they'll all be on the same team. They'll be split up into two separate squads: Team MLL and Team USA.

Festivities get underway Thursday starting at 3:30pm when the parking lot opens for tailgating, and later on in the evening the game will commence as well as the highly anticipated skills competition.

Rabil, considered the top lax star in the world, has been known to impress the crowd during the skills comp. His accolades feature jumping over a car and firing a then-record 111mph shot towards net, the latter of which got him featured on ESPN's popular Sports Science segment.
