5 Southbridge Fires Ruled Arson

SOUTHBRIDGE (CBS) ---The state fire marshal says a series of five fires Saturday night and early Sunday were intentionally set.

The fires damaged a home at 44-46 Cohasse Street, one on Oakridge and one at 173 Everett St. The other two were small outside fires in the same neighborhood.

"We want the public to be aware of these fires and to protect themselves by making sure the smoke and carbon monoxide alarms in their homes are working. Neighbors should keep an eye on each other's property and report any suspicious activity," said Southbridge Fire Chief Mark DiFronzo

Anyone with information about these fires should call the Southbridge Police Department at 508-764-5420 or the statewide Arson Hotline at 1-800-682-9229.
