Woman Allegedly Used Machete To Attack 3 Men Outside Sharon Hotel

SHARON (CBS) -- Police arrested a couple after the woman allegedly stabbed multiple people with a machete at a Best Western Plus Hotel in Sharon. Five people were injured during the fight, which broke out around 1:30 a.m. Sunday, according to police.

Two men are still hospitalized with serious injuries.

Police said Allison Maitland, 34, of Hanson, and her boyfriend, Sean Perry were having sex in a parked car when a father and his two adult sons walked by. One of the men yelled they should "get a room."

At that point, court documents said Perry got out of the car but was beaten up by men. Maitland then allegedly got out and attacked the men with the machete, slashing two and almost killing the third.

"One of the victims was laying on a bench, essentially bleeding to death," prosecutor Katelyn Marden told the court during Maitland's arraignment Monday morning.

She was ordered held without bail after being charged with two counts of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon causing serious injury, and one count of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.

Her attorney said Maitland was just trying to defend her boyfriend. "She said that he was being beat up by multiple males," explained defense attorney John Guglielmi.
