4 Rescued From Boat That Caught Fire Off Mass. Coast

BOSTON (AP) — The U.S. Coast Guard has rescued four people who were aboard a boat that caught fire off the coast of Massachusetts.

The Coast Guard says it received a distress call around 4:45 a.m. Saturday from the master of the 35-foot boat. It was reported that everyone aboard abandoned the vessel and boarded an inflatable life raft.

A Coast Guard crew responded to Vineyard Sound around 5 a.m. and transferred the four adults to a rescue vessel. No injuries were reported.

The Coast Guard says the fire was contained and extinguished by a fire suppression system onboard the boat. It was being towed to its homeport in Falmouth.
