3 Seriously Injured In Rochester High-Speed Crash

ROCHESTER (CBS) -- Three Middleboro men were seriously injured after a high-speed crash.

It happened around 6 p.m. Tuesday on Neck Road in Rochester. Police observed the car heading southbound at a high rate of speed when it rounded a curve and ran off the side of the roadway. Police say the car became airborne, sheared off a telephone poll, rolled over and ejected two of the three men.

Police identify the men as 20-year-old Joshua A. DeMoranville, 19-year-old Samuel Pike and 18-year old Antone Arruda. Two of the men were taken to Rhode Island Hospital. A third was airlifted to Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston.

"It was a violent high-speed crash. The vehicle involved was completely destroyed," said Rochester Police Chief Paul Mage.

Neck Road was closed to traffic for six hours while police investigated. No charges or citations have been issued by police.
