3 Hurt In Cornish Fair Amusement Ride Accident

CORNISH, N.H. (CBS) -- Three people were hurt in an amusement ride accident at the Cornish Fair in New Hampshire on Friday.

New Hampshire State Fire Marshal say a preliminary investigation and inspection of the ride appears to indicate mechanical issues occurred, causing it to move during the loading of the ride car.

Two riders, an eight-year-old girl and a 28-year-old woman, both from Canaan, N.H., fell from the car.

The 23-year-old man operating the ride also suffered minor injuries.

They were taken to local hospitals and later released.

Tramway and amusement ride safety inspectors returned to the fair on Saturday to continue inspecting the ride, which has been shut down.

The accident remains under investigation.
