3 Arrested In Connection With Assault On Red Line

BOSTON (CBS) – Three people have been arrested in connection with an assault on the Red Line last Sunday night.

On Tuesday, Transit Police released surveillance video showing the attack on the train as it entered Broadway Station. On Wednesday, six people turned themselves in.

Investigators say the incident started as an argument between two men. The fight grew and police say the attackers punched, kicked and stomped one of the men, as well as two women who stepped in to help.

After an investigation, 36-year-old Michael Davis of South Boston, 24-year-old Patrick Joyce of Dorchester, and 20-year-old Kristine Mullen of South Boston were arrested on assault charges. Police have obtained an arrest warrant for 21-year-old Kevin McCarthy of South Boston for his alleged role in the assault.

The suspects are expected to be arraigned on Tuesday.
