23-Year-Old Worcester Woman Struck By Hit-And-Run Driver

BOSTON (CBS) --- A 23-year-old Worcester woman is in the hospital after being struck by a car while walking her dog.

It happened on Belmont Street, around 10:40 p.m. Friday night.

Police say the car that struck the woman fled the scene prior to their arrival.

The woman's father told the Worcester Telegram & Gazette the family's dog returned to the home without his daughter. He heard sirens and realized his daughter had been walking the dog.

Witnesses at the scene, told police it was a gray or silver sedan traveling west on Belmont Street.
