Gronkowski (The Horse) Finishes Second In Belmont Stakes

ELMONT, N.Y. (CBS/AP) – Gronkowski the horse finished second at the Belmont Stakes Saturday afternoon, as Justify won the Triple Crown.

The horse, part owned and named after star Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski, was in last place early in the race, but stormed back towards the front at the end, finishing just under two lengths behind Justify.

Gronkowski, a heavy underdog at 24-to-1 odds to win the Belmont, returned $13.80 and $7. Rob Gronkowski was at the race, in the stands cheering on his horse.

Justify became the 13th horse to sweep the Triple Crown, having already won the Kentucky Derby and Preakness.
