2 Killed In Truck, Minivan Crash On Mass Pike In Framingham

FRAMINGHAM (CBS) - A man and woman were killed when a tractor-trailer slammed into a minivan on the Massachusetts Turnpike Wednesday morning, State Police said.

Check: Traffic Updates

The flatbed truck was carrying wood when it crashed into the side of the van on the eastbound side of the Pike near the Route 9 exit around 5 a.m.

State Police say preliminary reports indicate the minivan spun-out and was then struck by the tractor trailer. Troopers are looking at the possibility the crash was weather-related.

The driver of the tractor-trailer was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

No names have been released.

State Police shut down lanes on both sides of the highway because wood landed on the westbound side after the crash.

Eastbound traffic was backed up into Grafton, according to State Police.

No other details are available at this point in the investigation.
