2 Riding In Car With Flat Tire Killed In Mass Pike Crash

WESTBOROUGH (CBS) – Two people riding in a car with a flat tire were killed in a crash on the Massachusetts Turnpike early Thursday morning.

It happened just after 3 a.m. on the eastbound side of the highway in Westborough.

State Police say five people were traveling in a Honda Accord with a flat tire when a Dodge Ram pickup truck towing a boat trailer clipped the slow-moving Honda, causing the car to roll over.

Two of the passengers in the Honda, 18-year-old Clarice Felix and 27-year-old Dave Virgile, both of Randolph, were killed in the crash.

Two other passengers were rushed to UMass Memorial Medical Center in Worcester with serious injuries.

The Honda driver had minor injuries.

The pickup driver, a 24-year-old man from Deerfield, NH was treated by EMTs at the scene and released.

State Police say they're still trying to figure out why the car was driving with a flat and why the truck clipped it.

No other information is available at this point in the investigation.
