2 Dogs Found Abandoned At Arnold Arboretum

BOSTON (CBS) -- Boston Animal Care and Control is looking for the owner of two dogs who were abandoned at the Arnold Arboretum over the weekend.

A park ranger found the two pit-bull mix dogs tied to a tree around 11am on Saturday, according to Lisa Timberlake, a spokesperson for Animal Control.  The ranger waited for while but no one came back to claim the dogs.

One dog was treated for abrasions on the pads of her paws that officials say are consistent with scalding on hot pavement. Timberlake says both dogs, which they've named "Shelley" and "Shelby," are nice and gentle, and are in good condition.

Anyone who recognizes the dogs is urged to call Boston Animal Care and Control.
