15-Year-Old Girl Shot In Lynn; Man Arrested

LYNN (CBS) – A 23-year-old man was arrested after a 15-year-old girl was shot in Lynn Friday night. It happened on North Common Terrace.

The victim was shot in the chest and was conscious when she was transported to Mass General Hospital. Police said she is expected to survive.

According to police, the shooting was accidental.

Michael Tate is charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, carrying a firearm & ammunition without a license, and discharging a firearm within 500 feet of a dwelling.
