12-Year-Old NH Girl Sings National Anthem Before Patriots Game

WINDHAM, N.H. (CBS) - When Olivia Tsetsilas, 12, heads to school she will have a very unique answer to the question - what did you do this summer?

Olivia or Livi, as she's known, sang the National Anthem to perfection Thursday night at the first preseason New England Patriots game at Gillette Stadium.

"When I sing that song, I don't get really nervous - more excited than nerves," Livi told WBZ-TV.

While she stays calm while performing, her parents, Branden and Cheryl, make up for it.

"I take on the nerves for the family," said Cheryl.

They said Livi has always liked singing. She started taking lessons three years ago. The journey to Gillette started when Livi sent in an audition tape to sing at a Revolution soccer game. She went through a series of auditions to get that gig. Then she received the big Patriots offer.

"Jumping and screaming and freaking out. I was so excited," said Livi.

There were a few obstacles thought on game day.

The family got stuck in traffic and missed the sound check.

"And even with all that and the feedback that was going on, once again classic Livi," said Branden.

Livi contended with a surprise on-field distraction that her parents captured on video.

The cameraman who was pointed at Livi had to adjust his camera during her song. And, of course her favorite team was right there.

"I was more excited they were right behind me and got to hear me sing," said Livi.

A day later she's still smiling. "Maybe I'll become big someday," she said.

Livi is currently working on recording her first album.
