12-Seed Harvard To Face Cincinnati In Spokane, Wash.

SPOKANE, Wash. (AP/CBS) — No. 5 Cincinnati opens NCAA tournament play in the East Region against No. 12 Harvard, which will make its third straight trip to the tournament after winning the Ivy League.

The defensive-minded Bearcats (27-6) tied for the American Athletic Conference regular-season title with Louisville and had a 15-game winning streak earlier in the season. Coach Mick Cronin's bunch has been a bit more inconsistent over the past month, with a 5-4 record since Feb. 8.

The Crimson comes into the NCAA tournament on an eight-game winning streak. Junior Wesley Saunders leads Harvard with 14 points per game.

In last year's NCAA tournament, the 14th-seeded Harvard upset the three-seeded New Mexico Lobos 68-62 in the first round before falling to sixth-seeded Arizona.

Harvard and Cincinnati will play Thursday at 2 p.m. in Spokane, Wash.
