1 Killed, 1 Injured In Mass. Pike Crash

WESTFIELD, Mass. (AP) — State police say one person has been killed and another injured when a van went out of control and overturned on the Massachusetts Turnpike.

Police said the crash happened at about 8 a.m. Sunday on the eastbound side of the highway near the 39-mile marker in Westfield. The left lane was closed for the police investigation.

The two people were the only ones in the 2004 Ford van.

Police say they don't know what caused the driver to lose control. The passenger was taken to a hospital with serious injuries.
