Wrapping Up Spring Training

Dan Szymborski of ESPN joined the Scott Garceau Show with Jeremy Conn to give his thoughts on how the American League East and the rest of MLB stacks up with less than a week until Opening Day. Scott opened things up with Dan to get his thoughts on how the Orioles are looking right now. "I don't think they had a bad off-season, I can name some teams that had  a bad off-season. The thing about hte Orioles is that you look at the loss of Nelson Cruz and that's something that you kind of look at their long term out look and it was something that had to happen. As great as Cruz was last year, he was kind of a one dimensional player who's very old. And we have Chris Davis coming back, I am optimistic about this season and I actually have the O's second in the division right now and it is very close."

Dan picked the Red Sox to finish first in the division, but Scott and Jeremy made him explain what he likes in Boston. "They have good offensive depth, they have spare players and they have their own positional crunch where they have good starters who might not get as many at-bats as they hoped. But the staff is what will be the question. I do like Rick Porcello and I do think he'll do excellent in Boston... But no team is a juggernaut in the American League East this year."
