Worley Pitches 4 Scoreless Innings, Pirates Top Orioles 4-2

BRADENTON, Fla. (AP) -- Vance Worley pitched four scoreless innings, Gorkys Hernandez singled in the go-ahead run in the eighth inning and the Pittsburgh Pirates beat the Baltimore Orioles 4-2 Sunday.

Orioles designated hitter Travis Snider had three singles against his former team.

Worley, who is competing with left-hander Jeff Locke for the Pirates' fifth starter spot, struck out two and allowed two hits.

Josh Harrison and Neil Walker opened the game with back-to-back doubles off Orioles left-hander Wei-Yin Chen. Catcher Tony Sanchez chased Chen in the third inning with an RBI single to left to extend the lead.

Chen went 3 1-3 innings, his longest start of spring training, allowing seven hits and two runs.

Orioles first baseman Steve Pearce, a former Pirates player, tied the game with a two-run home run off Antonio Bastardo in the sixth inning.
