Woman Who Shot Husband, 7-year-old Son Charged With Attempted Murder

DUNDALK, Md. (WJZ)—A woman is facing attempted murder charges after police say she shot her husband and her 7-year=old son over the weekend.

It happened around 7:00 p.m. Saturday in the 7300 block of School Ave., in Dundalk.

According to investigators, a 30-year-old Erica Nicole Shifflett arrived at the residence to take her 7-year-old son when an argument ensued with her 31-year-old husband.

"The husband began to take their son inside the home when the wife pulled out a gun and fired, striking her husband in the upper body area and her son in the lower body area," police said.

Both victims were taken to the hospital for non-life threatening injuries.

Shifflett has been charged with attempted first-degree murder, first-degree assault, and related charges. She is being held without bail at the Baltimore County Detention Center.

Police originality identified the victim has a 10-year-old boy.
