Woman Rescued After Falling 10-Feet Into W. Baltimore Manhole

BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- A woman is recovering after being rescued from a manhole in West Baltimore.

It happened around 4:30 a.m. at the intersection of Pearl Street and W. Lexington Street.

City fire officials say the woman fell at least 10-feet into a manhole that conducts steam.

The woman was extricated from the hole and taken to an area hospital. She is listed in serious condition.

One firefighter was also injured during the rescue. They were treated at an area hospital.
