Woman Killed, Injured Husband Suspected In Mount Airy Shooting

MOUNT AIRY, Md. (AP) -- The Frederick County Sheriff's Office says a Mount Airy man will be charged with first-degree murder in a shooting that left his wife dead and himself critically injured.

Deputy First Class Amanda Hatcher said Thursday investigators have obtained an arrest warrant for 50-year-old Robert Laudick. Laudick is in critical condition at Shock Trauma in Baltimore.

Hatcher says deputies responded shortly after 7 p.m. Wednesday to a reported shooting in the 6600 block of Charles Drive. She says they found 50-year-old Donna Laudick dead in the home.

Hatcher says Robert Laudick also will be charged with second-degree murder, first-degree assault and use of a firearm in commission of a violent crime.
