ASHBURN, Va. (AP) — State police say a woman was killed and two young children were among those injured when a driver ran a red light on the Loudoun County Parkway.

Police say 39-year-old Nakia Wilkerson went through a red light early Friday morning at the intersection of Gloucester Parkway in Ashburn. Her pickup truck crashed into a car with six people inside.

One of the passengers in the car, 37-year-old Maria Haiderian, later died at a hospital. Five others in the car were injured, including 5-year-old Masha Haiderian and 3-year-old Armaghan Haiderian. Police say both girls suffered serious injuries. Police say the 3-year-old was not in a child safety seat and was thrown from the car.
