Woman Found Slain In Severn Home; Infant Found Unharmed

SEVERN, Md. (AP) -- Anne Arundel County Police say a woman was found dead in a home from upper body trauma, and an 8-month-old was found there unharmed.

Officers say a 911 call was made about 8 a.m. Tuesday for an unlocked home in Severn. Police found a woman dead inside and the infant also inside and unhurt.

Investigators say the infant was taken to a hospital as a precaution.

Detectives say they are investigating the woman's death as a homicide. The woman's body has been taken to the medical examiner's office in Baltimore for autopsy.

Police won't identify the woman until her relatives are notified.
