Woman Fends Off Knife-Wielding Man With Broom Handle, MDTA Says

BALTIMORE (WJZ)—The Maryland Transportation Authority Police say they apprehended a knife-wielding man attempting to assault a woman on Wednesday.

MDTA police responded to a Royal Farms parking lot on Holabird Ave.

Authorities say at the scene, 49-year-old Mark Commodore, of Baltimore was found swinging a 4-inch knife and lunging toward a woman. The woman fended off Commodore with a broom handle, police said.

Commodore eventually dropped the knife and was taken into custody.

He is facing charges of first and second degree assault and a weapon violation.

The woman told police Commodore was also harassing store customers prior to the assault.
