Woman Dies Walking Across I-70 After Fight With Boyfriend

BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- After a woman was hit and killed by two cars on eastbound I-70 late Tuesday night, Maryland State Police are investigating.

Investigators say 22-year-old Ebony Short, of Clarksville, was driving on the highway when she got in a argument with her boyfriend and stopped the car on the right shoulder.

She got out of the car and was walking on the roadway when she was hit.

Emergency responders pronounced Short dead at the scene.

Drivers of the both the cars that hit her stayed on the scene and were interviewed by police. No charges are anticipated.

The accident investigation required eastbound I-70 to be closed east of Route 29 overnight. State Highway Administration personnel established a detour, and the road was completely reopened around 2 a.m. Wednesday.
