Woman Dies After Being Burned In Laurel House Fire

LAUREL, Md. (AP) -- Prince George's County Firefighters say an 80-year-old woman died after being burned in a fire in her home.

Firefighters were called to the home about 9:45 p.m. Thursday and found a burned piece of furniture in the home. Authorities say the woman apparently put a fire out, but sustained burns on nearly half of her body.

The woman was taken to a Washington hospital, where firefighters say she died Friday afternoon.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
