Woman Critical After Salisbury Shooting

SALISBURY, Md. (AP) -- Wicomico County authorities say a woman is in critical condition after being shot in the head and that the shooter is in custody.

The Wicomico County Sheriff's Office says deputies were called to the 1200 block of Kiowa Avenue in Salisbury on Christmas for a report of a shooting. The sheriff's office says deputies found a victim with a gunshot wound to the head and she was taken to the hospital.

The sheriff's office says witnesses identified 24-year-old Jack Braboy of Salisbury as the shooter. The sheriff's office says Braboy was apprehended a short time later. A message left at a telephone listing for Braboy was not immediately returned Friday.

Officials did not say what may have led to the shooting or whether the victim and Braboy knew each other.
