Woman Charged With Arson After Attempts To Burn Down Corner Store

BALTIMORE (WJZ)--A woman faces multiple charges after police say she made multiple attempts to burn down an East Baltimore corner store.

The Baltimore Police Department has arrested and charged 32-year old Aisha Warsaw for arson, malicious burning and attempted murder for her numerous attempts to burn down The Lucky Corner Grocery Store in the 2200 block of E. Fairmount Avenue on Wednesday.

According to charging documents, after a dispute with the store's owner, Warsaw used a Molotov cocktail to set a plastic bag on fire and then threw it into the store. A portion of a decorative plant met with the plastic bag caught fire--causing $200 worth of damage to the store.  Warsaw was later seen spraying the contents of a bottle around the front of the store and on the counter. She then lit a plant and plastic bag--this time the plant and bag did not fully engulf.

Warsaw was spotted and taken into custody by detectives as they were conducting their investigation in the neighborhood.

She is currently being held at the Baltimore City Detention Center.
