Woman Arrested After Pouring Hot Grits On Sleeping Man

PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY, Md. (WJZ)—A Capitol Heights woman is arrested after police say she poured hot grits on a man while he slept.

It happened back on July 31, in the 7000 block of Onyx Court.

For an unknown reason, police say, Alexis Staton, of Capitol Heights, poured hot grits on a man while he was sleeping.

According to police, when the victim jumped out of bed Staton struck the victim in the head with a bat.

Staton was charged with first degree assault, second degree assault and reckless endangerment.

Police say the victim walked out of his home with burns to his body and a bleeding head.
