Woman, 2 Grandchildren Killed When Tractor Trailer Hits Car

GREENSBORO, Md. (AP) — Maryland State Police say a woman and two of her grandchildren were killed when their car crossed the center line and was hit by a tractor trailer in Caroline County.

Troopers said in a news release that about noon on Wednesday, 52-year-old Joanne Janvier of Greensboro was driving west on Whiteleysburg Road in Greensboro. Police say Janvier swerved to avoid a dog in the road and lost control of the car.

Authorities say the car crossed the center line and was hit by a tractor trailer traveling east.

Troopers say Janvier, and her grandchildren, 9-year-old Angelina Noble and 6-year-old Jeremy McCready, were pronounced dead at the scene. The tractor trailer driver was not hurt.

The crash is under investigation.
