Winter Weather Advisory Issued For Monday; Dangerous Road Conditions Possible

BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- A Winter Weather Advisory has been issued for most of Maryland as a wintry mix is expected to move into the area Monday.

The advisory is in effect for Central Maryland and the Eastern Shore from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Commuting Monday afternoon and evening may be hazardous as sleet and freezing rain could make for icy roads.

WJZ's Meg McNamara says precipitation will move into the state by midday.

"We are expecting a mix of wintry precipitation -- kind of the whole gamut here. We could see freezing rain, sleet, a few of us could see snow," says McNamara. "The timing of it is not good for the afternoon and evening commute."
