Brief chance of rain in Maryland Sunday night, Monday morning

Chance of rain returns to Maryland Sunday evening

Beautiful fall weather has returned to Maryland. Aside from a brief chance of rain early in the week, pleasant weather is going to stick around over the next several days.

Sunday begins with chilly weather

Plan on temperatures in the 30s and lower 40s in most areas at 7 a.m. Sunday. It'll be coldest northwest and west of the immediate Baltimore metro. Temperatures will bottom-out in the mid-30s in parts of northern Baltimore, Carroll and western Howard Counties. It'll bottom-out in the upper 30s and lower 40s on the eastern shore away from the bay.

High clouds increase through the morning as temperatures warm back into the mid and upper 50s by noon. Temperatures peak in the low to mid-60s in most communities by 4 p.m.

Scattered showers move into Maryland Sunday night

Two storm systems will move through the greater East Coast region Sunday, into the start of the workweek.

One is expected to remain south of central Maryland, while the other remains farther north. However, they will be close enough to boost the chance of rain across central Maryland and the eastern shore Sunday night and Monday.

The chance of rain peaks Monday morning. Rain is most likely south of Route 50. Farther north, spotty light rain showers are expected across the Baltimore metro Monday morning.

Fall weather continues next week

The forecast dries out and remains pleasant Monday afternoon. The forecast remains mostly dry through the remainder of the workweek. Mornings are forecast to be chilly, with temperatures in the 30s and lower 40s. Afternoon temperatures peak in the upper 50s and 60s each afternoon.

A slight chance of showers sweeps in on Thursday as another front approaches.

Have a great evening,

Cutter
