Westminster Man Remains In Critical Condition After Shed Explosion

WESTMINSTER, Md. (WJZ) -- A Westminster man remains in critical but stable condition after a shed explosion behind his home.

Investigators are still trying to determine what caused the explosion Saturday morning, but they do believe it was an accident.

The homeowner, 56-year-old Bernard Toporycki, was injured when he tried to enter the shed.

He was taken to Johns Hopkins Bayview Burn Center with second and third-degree burns.

His wife and cousin were in the house during the explosion. They were not injured.
